Real Housewives of Faith
We’ve come to know and love the Real Housewives for a lot of things. Drama, fashion, and business probably top that list for most fans. Many housewives are leaving an impression on viewers using something money can’t buy: Faith. Who are these holy housewives and how is their faith getting them through tough times? Read on to learn more!
Real Housewives of Orange County
Alexis joined the Real Housewives of Orange County in it’s fifth season and immediately became a polarizing figure due to her beliefs. It wasn’t necessarily her beliefs that rubbed people the wrong way, but the sanctimonious way she came across professing them. She was a holy housewife dressed for Hooters! No surprise she earned the moniker, “Jesus Jugs”! I always liked Bellino, but my prayers didn’t save her from getting Bible-belted off the show after Season 8.
Lydia was a one-and-done housewife for Orange County, until now! Much like Bellino, she praised the Lord and submitted to her husband. However, Lydia didn’t beat us over the head with her beliefs. She found the housewives to be to hellish for her tastes and hit the road. That road took her to the bookstore to sell her religious and reflective self-help book, “Beyond Orange County”. Bravo execs have rehired McLaughlin to bring the kumbaya to Orange County’s 11th season. God Bless You and Good Luck Lydia!
In season 10 of RHOC, Tamra pulled a Hank Williams and saw the light. That light found Tamra trying to become a lighter, less Judge-y housewife. It’s a good look for her! Congratulations T! Can’t wait to see more of the new you!
Vicki talks about Jesus a lot and goes to church. In recent years, she has been comparing herself to Jesus’ crucifixion quite a bit. Way to bring down a party, Vicki!
Real Housewives of New York
Jules loved to tell everyone and anyone that she was Asian and Jewish. It’s how she introduced herself to the other housewives and fans (it was literally her tagline)! She celebrated and observed her Jewish traditions throughout the 8th season of the RHONY. Her faith was one of the few storylines she had and is probably why fans weren’t too upset when she didn’t come back for season 9.
Real Housewives of Atlanta
The only thing I remember about Deshawn Snow is that she went to a big church and wrote an even bigger check for her tithe. Maybe if she had done more than the first season of RHOA, I would know more about her??
Who doesn’t know about Phaedra’s relationship with God? She was raised in the church by her preacher parents and has made more Biblical one-liners than Moses! Parks is probably busy calling Jesus on speed dial to get help cleaning up the messes she made on the last season of RHOA.
Kim has credited her use of “The Secret” for her many blessings. The book urges the use of positive thinking and the laws of attraction to get what you want. “Ask, Believe, Receive” is the mantra of the text and one Kim quotes a lot.
Real Housewives of New Jersey
Of course Teresa made this list! She has a little church at her husband’s family property! She is a proud Catholic who has often been filmed praying for help and guidance, especially prior to her sentencing. During her time at “camp”, Guidice depended heavily on her faith.
Melissa Gorga loves her some Jesus! Among Housewives, she’s His #1 fan! Whether she’s thanking Him, celebrating Him, or praising Him, you can be sure He’s never far from her lips.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Kyle Richards converted to Judaism upon marrying her husband Mauricio. She has spoken on her faith in times of flights and fight crises. See below…
Carlton Gebbia joined the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in it’s fourth season and immediately gave fans the heebie-jeebies. At first she was Gothic, then she was Wiccan, then she started joking about curses. Viewers didn’t know what to think of this one! She was very defensive and paranoid about other’s thoughts on her religion, even going as far as to argue with Kyle about the Star of David v. the Wiccan star. Bravo pulled a little hocus-pocus and Carlton disappeared from season 5.
Real Housewives of Potomac
Gizelle used to be Mrs. Jamal Bryant aka the preacher’s wife! Gizelle hasn’t been overly preachy or prayerful during her onscreen time, so we will have to wait and see how heavenly this housewife is.
Monique is the newest housewife on one of the newest housewife franchises. In her first season, we’ve seen her turn to her pastor for guidance and lean on her husband Bellino-style. However, she has yet to beat anyone over the head with her beliefs.
This has turned out to be a long list for such a sinful show! Tell us what you think of the Faithful Housewives of Bravo below!
